Do you know a high school student who loves history? Or a teen who loves recording and editing video?  The _ Young Lawyers Division is inviting high school students to participate in its Law Day Video Contest for a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C., to celebrate Law Day. This is the first year of the contest and the division plans to host it annually. The contest is the perfect opportunity for teenage history buffs and aspiring producers alike to put their skills to work.

The 2011 contest theme is “The Legacy of John Adams: From Boston to Guantanamo.” Students are asked to showcase how John Adams, America’s first “lawyer president,” influenced our nation. Video entries should be as creative as possible in conveying President Adams’ legacy and its effects throughout history. The contest deadline is March 1. The Young Lawyers Division has posted this video to inspire ideas and provide further details.

Four finalists will receive a free trip to Washington, D.C., for the ABA Law Day celebration, including roundtrip airfare for two people (if necessary for a guardian to travel), hotel accommodations and a $100 per diem for two days. The winner will be announced during the Law Day celebration.

Complete contest rules and details can be found here.
