FTC, FCC and FERC Commissioners Top Program at ABA Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law Conference in Washington, D.C.
CHICAGO, Feb. 23, 2010—Antitrust enforcement issues, net neutrality, the Horizontal Merger Guidelines and a variety of other timely issues will be covered during the _ Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law Annual Spring Meeting.
This one-day conference, Mar. 7, will be headquartered at Pepco Holdings, Washington, D.C.
Speakers include William Kovacic, commissioner, Federal Trade Commission; Marc Spitzer, commissioner, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; and Meredith Attwell Baker, commissioner, Federal Communications Commission.
Program highlights include:
“Developments at the Antitrust Enforcement Agencies,” led by Bruce McDonald, Jones Day, Washington, D.C. Panelists will review the latest developments in antitrust issues at the agencies tasked with enforcement. Speakers include a representative from the Department of Justice and the current FTC commissioner.
“Competition Analysis in the Electric Industry,” led by Floyd L. Norton IV, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, Washington, D.C. Panelists will look at the current issues facing the electricity industry, in particular how federal competition policies impact this regulated industry. Speakers include the current FERC commissioner.
“Competition Analysis and the Net Neutrality Debate,” led by Theodore A. Livingston, Mayer Brown, LLP, Chicago. Top regulatory and industry experts will discuss the latest developments in the debate regarding net neutrality and industry competition. Speakers include a representative from AT&T and the current FCC commissioner.
“Competition Analysis in the Airline Industry,” led by Malcolm Benge, Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger, LLP, Washington, D.C. Panelists will explore how antitrust issues are currently affecting the airline industry. Speakers include a representative from the Department of Justice.
