Thanks for Standing Up for Access to Justice and Rule of Law, Says ABA President
Working to make a positive difference elevates the legal profession, said ABA President Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III, who spoke at the National Pro Bono Summit in Washington, D.C. to kick off Celebrate Pro Bono Week, held this year October 23-29.
The summit, sponsored by the _’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, brought together 120 leaders of the legal profession to discuss innovative approaches for involving lawyers in meeting the needs of the nation’s poor. Participants identified the issues and obstacles to expanding pro bono services to develop concrete action steps to achieve better delivery of legal services to those who need it most.
